Every year nearby the village of Brunsbüttel on the River Elbe hosts The Mud Olympics.
During this event, teams compete in all kinds of sports,
from football to handball, but all in mud.

The Mud Olympics are wet, dirty and diabolical,
but most of all they are hysterically funny, an exhausted parade of 'athletes'
who compete not just for the best sporting performances, but also for
the titles of Funniest Team Name, Best Fans and Most Comical Team.

This event is held annually in mud flats along the banks of the Elbe River in Brunsbüttel near Hamburg, Germany.
The competiton also called Wattoluempiade have been played since 1978 and it's a charity event.
